Working from Home: Meal Delivery Services

3/20/2020

Meal delivery services can be quite helpful in general, but they're an especially powerful resource during times like these. Whether you're busy working from home or just self-isolating to keep social distance during the cornavirus pandemic, keeping your kitchen stocked up with fresh food can be a challenge.

Fortunately, there are still meal delivery service options that can help you stay nourished and maintain a strong immune system without leaving your home. After all, good nutrition is an essential to a strong immune system.
Eatright.org describes the importance of nutrition with regards to your immune system:

Besides the potential nutritional benefits, receiving a box of delicious food each week surprisingly relieves stress. With meal deliveries, you can eliminate the time and energy it takes to plan meals, choose ingredients, and go to the store. In some cases you can even eliminate the process of cooking and cleaning. This is especially valuable during busy work weeks. I currently use two different meal delivery services, Trifecta Nutrition and EveryPlate.

Trifecta delivers organic, cooked food in vacuum sealed packaging that you can just place in your refrigerator. The food is delicious, it lasts a week or two, and you don't even have to cook it. You just warm it up and possibly clean a dish or two if you use one to eat it. While Trifecta offers specific, diet conscious meal plans, I use their "a la carte" option which gives me the flexibility to mix and match food choices to build my meals.

EveryPlate delivers healthy, uncooked food with easy-to-follow instructions that guide you through the process of prepping and cooking your meal. The food is quite tasty, and even if you're busy, taking 30-60 minutes to cook a meal each evening can be a fun home activity to break up your day or to kickstart a relaxing night (whether you're cooking alone, with a friend, or with significant other).

There are tons of meal delivery services to choose from, and I'd definitely recommend everyone try one or two to see how much value they can add to your life. If you have a meal delivery service that you'd recommend, feel free to email me your referral code to trevor@trevormmorgan.com as I'm interested in trying more meal delivery services.

Get to Know Your Own Background!

7/28/2019

One big mistake I made early-on in my own internship search was that I forgot to spend time reflecting on my own background. Don't get me wrong.... I spent a ton of time learning about various internships and the companies that offered them, so I wouldn't consider myself lazy by any means. However, when it came time to write my résumé and talk to recruiters, I struggled to explain how my past experiences were relevant and applicable.

Below find a few links to personality quizzes you can use to start reflecting on your background. To-date, my favorite is 16 Personalities which takes about 15-30 minutes to complete.
